Bike Pure
I became involved with Bike Pure this year and I really believe these guys are trying to rid Cycling of Doping "Cheats" and I am 100% behind them. I will be working with them and alongside them to TRY to rid this wonderful Sport of ours from this Cancer that has affected it for so long.
Even though our Sport is the most tested of all Sports and probably now , one of the cleanest, there is still work to be done.. It's never over until the last cheat is caught.
I am still of the opinion that if you are caught doping once, you should be BANNED FOR LIFE. This is the only way we will stop this plague, I believe....
Le Beau Velo
This is one London bike shop trying to do the job the right way.... The owner is a super guy called Mal Pires and he has the right ideas about giving service and advice to bike riders in the best way possible. I visited his shop a few weeks ago when I went to get fitted for my new Viner for 2011... The shop is a great venue and Mal has got some very go-ahead ideas about promoting his shop and at the same time giving his customers some superb "add-ons" to buying a bike and some free practical advice about training and preparation for racing or Sportive riding or whatever you, the customer is going to do with the bike.. GREAT FORWARD THINKING GUY !!
His shop has only been in business for a short while, but he has some great products for sale , including my new bike for 2011 , The Viner Maxima RS... He also wants to link up with me.... and I'll be coming down to Le Beau Velo in the future to give training talks and also bring my Computrainer down with me to offer Mal's clients Ramp tests etc. These tests will give client a STACK of information about their state of fitness at that point in time...
It's also a friendly, cosy atmosphere and I think it has wonderful potential as a bike shop of the "FUTURE!"...
