Just found this pic of the winning break on the last day of the Girvan 3-Day 1982. The pic shows me leading the 4 man break of Paul Curran, Joey McLoughlin and Martin Young. It was shortly after this that Paul and I worked Joey over and I took off for a solo victory with the yellow jersey on my back... GREAT feeling going up the home straight knowing the win was "in the bag". Plus I'd taken the Points and KOM too... I was in super form for the Girvan this year!!
