I was getting really cheesed off in my comeback years after being a TI Raleigh Pro and everyone calling me a "tester"! I had been a prospective Tour de France rider and maybe an overall contender.
In any case I thought "I'll have to show these people that I am NOT just a tester" ... I will ride the Girvan ... I trained hard with Eddie's guidance and we entered this prestigious Road Race ... It was a very good field with Paul Curran, Joey McLoughlin, Steve Lawrence, Jeff Williams and a stack of other Internationals ... In the end I won the Points, King of the Mountains and the Overall by winning the last stage by 2 minutes with the Yellow Jersey on my back!
The pic is one of me attacking the break on the last stage, which included Paul Curran, Joey McLoughlin and some guy from Cleveland .. TESTER?????? Yeah right!!
