This was a Pro- Am event and based on a VERY hilly 22 mile circuit in the Harrogate area and part of the "Harrogate Cycling Week".
I rode for the Birkenhead North End club this year as Chris's Dad was the President at the time ... I was made as welcome in the club as fart in a lift.
In this event I was flying, but was really lucky, as the finish was VERY fast and I was touching 50 mph in places and my front tyre blew just as I was slowing down after the finish line. I beat Tony Doyle into second place on the day. Another good scalp for me to take!
