CARL SAINT STORMS BACK TO FORM AFTER HIS LAY-OFF WITH SOME GREAT RESULTS IN HIS QUEST FOR A GOOD RIDE IN THE CIRCUIT CHAMPS...
Carl had two super results last week.. Last Wednesday he flew around the Holme Valley "10" where he was only 10 seconds off his PB for the course on a hard night with an untouchable 22' 14".... Then on Saturday he rode the YCF 30 and made a big improvement on last years result, when he beat John Morgan by over one minute to record a great time for this sporting course with a 1.04.29... BETTER THAN LAST YEAR CARL, SO LOOKING GOOD FOR THE CHAMPS !
Wendy Houvenaghel and Brenda Pennell proved the "doubters" wrong at the World Cup RR in Celtic Manor... There was much critisism from some ill informed, ill mannered, or maybe just "ill in the head" personages about the Raleigh Team having the audacity to have a team in the World Cup RR. The girls confounded the critics with 2 GREAT rides with Wendy finishing just 40 seconds adrift of the World Champion winner of the race Judith Arndt, to finish in 25th place and 3rd best Brit, with Brenda coming in a very creditable 39th.... SOME PEOPLE SHOULD REALLY THINK BEFORE THEY SPEAK.... OR NOT SPEAK AT ALL... WHICH DAVE RECKONS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE MOST SENSIBLE OPTION IN THIS CASE...... GREAT RIDE GIRLS.....!!
Some good performances at the National Junior Track Champs.. Special mention must go to Andy Fenn, who finished a marvellous 7th place in the Pursuit qualifying whilst in severe pain from a mending collar bone , but still managed a 2'27" after losing 3 SECONDS in the first half lap !! He didn't go any further in the competition, thank goodness as he needs to build for the GHS 10 now!!... Also great rides from Tom Skubala and Matt Green... WELL DONE LADS......
Mark Marsland fantastic end to the season.... Mark improved YET AGAIN last week when he took another20 seconds off his 10 mile PB. He recorded a lifetime best of 23'41"... GREAT RIDE, HARD MAN.......
Paul Jones rides to another top ten place in a VERY high class field.... In the Antelope 10 on Sunday, Paul rode to another super fast 20'37" to finish 6th overall in a great field....COME ON PAUL... LET'S HAVE THAT WIN SOON....
Edgar Reynolds another PB too... Edgar improved on his 12 hour best last Sunday with a super 12th place in 223 miles... MORE PB'S YET THIS SEASON ED........
DAVE WANTS SOME POSITIVE THOUGHTS FOR CAROLE GANDY, WHO IS TAKING PART IN HER FIRST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TOMORROW IN THE TIME TRIAL IN AUSTRIA.... COME ON CAROLE....YOU CAN DO IT.... WILL WE HAVE OUR FIRST RAINBOW JERSEY TOMORROW???
